Myself, I'd like to continue working on the StepTalk Palette, possibly extending it to a full-featured smalltalk-ish environment (eg, with a class browser, a workspace, a transcript windows, .. a debugger ?), perhaps standalone (not in Gorm -- Gorm's integration would then be provided via drag-n-drop, like EOModel does..)
For the 1.0 release scripting environments have to be finished. Then I would like to suggest you that we can join forces :-) and create a framework with scripting interface and tools for applications (transcript, browser, IM/ICQ-inspired shell, ...). Gorm hooks should be part of near releases too.
Next is, as you have said, stand-alone scripting playground application that would serve to object environment as xterm serves to the UNIX environment.

Anyway, what do you think about joining?
Well, of course I'm all for working together :-)
